Cech started the game despite the recent £22.5 million signing of Bernd Leno, the former Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper who was reported to have been signed as his replacement.
Cech, 36, insisted he is comfortable with a new style of play under Emery which places an emphasis on playing out from the back.

Tottenham may not have spent anything in the transfer market and had to play several of their stars who have just returned from well-earned breaks post the World Cup.
"Otherwise Emery wouldn't have taken Xhaka and Ramsey off and like I said, probably more someone like Guendouzi".
"We might know a guy." they tweeted, seemingly suggesting their former number one Leno would be more adept at implementing Emery's vision of passing out from the defence. His experience here in Arsenal and the Premier League is very important and will give us all the information and performances in his quality. I want a consistency in our way.
Cech was heavily criticised for his display against Manchester City last Sunday. Mendy carried the ball forward from inside his own half, played a one-two with Sterling on the left wing, got to the byline and cut the ball back for Bernardo Silva, who fired the ball into the net.
However, Nacho Monreal should be ready to start after taking part in full training all week, while Emery said continuing with right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner - who replaced Maitland-Niles - is also an option.
