Are you excited for the Sonic the Hedgehog movie?

Variety put out a report yesterday announcing that Ben Schwartz has been cast as the titular blue hedgehog.

While Carrey's past form in playing outrageous characters (like The Grinch, for instance) is well-documented, Schwartz has prior experience in voice-acting, now lending his larynx to Dewey Duck in the rebooted Duck Tales series on the Disney Channel and confirmed as Leonardo in the Nickelodeon's "Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles". Other than his role in Parks & Rec, Ben Schwartz has done voicing on classic characters including Dewey Duck in Disney Channel's current reboot of Duck Tales. That's quite the collection of blue cartoon characters Schwartz has.

Manafort Trial: Gates Explains How They Concealed Income
Some of the maneuvers were at the request of Gates, while others implicated Manafort, Laporta testified. There were hundreds of emails showing Manafort approved payments out of the Cypriot accounts, he said.

Marsden will play a small-town cop from South Dakota who ends up going on a road trip to San Francisco with Sonic the Hedgehog as they race against the evil Dr. Robotnik (Carrey) to recover Sonic's rings. We're noticing a lot of blue with this one.

Production on Sonic the Hedgehog is underway up in Vancouver, Canada with James Marsden on set as a police officer who gets caught up with Sonic in some way, and Tika Sumpter also having some kind of human role in the movie as well.

The film is being directed by Jeff Fowler, with Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher and Deadpool director Tim Miller serving as producers. Paramount will let Sonic run wild on November 15, 2019.
