White House blasts Omarosa for recording talks

'Wacky Omarosa [Manigault], who got fired three times on the Apprentice, now got fired for the last time. "She never made it, never will", Trump tweeted on Monday, admitting that his response to her claims were "not presidential".

But she told Chuck Todd on Sunday local time that she was later able to hear a recording of Trump during a trip to Los Angeles.

The alleged revelation came as Newman released audio she secretly recorded when she was booted from the White House in December.

On Monday, he took the criticism a step further, calling his former aide "vicious" and "not smart". But, now that she's a Trump trasher she's "the toast of the town". I would rarely see her but heard.really bad things.

Hitting out at the former aide after the release of the recording, Mr Trump tweeted: "Wacky Omarosa, who got fired 3 times on the Apprentice, now got fired for the last time".

Trump's remarks came a couple hours after Manigault Newman played an audio recording of a conversation she had with Trump seeming to show that the president was surprised his chief of staff John Kelly had fired her late previous year.

"It's my opinion that Melania was forced to go to the border that day in June, essentially, to mop up her husband's mess", Omarosa reportedly wrote. "They told me I could work from home if I wanted to work".

For her own part, Manigault Newman appeared to be prepared to go to the wall for Trump as well, until she was let go.

"No. Nobody ever told me about it", Trump replies.

One such conversation she played on the show apparently took place one day after her firing.

The images of people carrying torches and shouting racist slogans as they marched shocked the city, the country and the world. Two Virginia State Police officers also died in a helicopter crash while assisting police activity related the the rally.

NBC News did not know what was said before or after that short exchange.

President Trump just gave Omarosa Manigault Newman the gift of another news cycle.

Manigault-Newman was hesitant to answer questions directly related to her personal actions, instead focusing on the actions of Kelly and the Trump administration. She's playing members of the media and they are letting her do it to them, because tapes!

What does the "Trump tape" say?

Later, he half-apologized for his comments about her.

"Because Donald Trump talks about everyone behind their backs. Damn it. I don't love you leaving at all". "There's a nickname for everyone in his administration and his circles".

Gidley said Omarosa showed a "complete disregard" for national security by recording White House Chief of Staff John Kelly firing her inside the White House situation room.

In the video, the voice Newman claims belongs to Kelly accused her of "some pretty serious integrity violations", and he said he hopes she can make "this a friendly departure".

Manigault Newman's book and recent revelations about her recordings have received significant pushback from the White House, and numerous claims she has made are unverifiable, leading to finger-pointing and accusations of dishonesty from both Manigault Newman and top Trump allies. They don't walk in and say to the president, "So and so leaked something", or "So and so is fighting with this one in the White House".

It's clear to absolutely everyone that Omarosa has no substantive analysis of her tenure at the White House beyond what she's already shared on "Celebrity Big Brother" earlier this year where she tried to portray herself as a victim.
