IOS 12 and numerous features announced during Apple's 2018 WWDC, including AR Kit 2.0, a more detailed breakdown of iPhone usage, and Animojis, should also make an appearance and receive a release date.

The event will be more than just iPhones though, as Apple is also said to be unveiling the fourth-generation Apple Watch and new iPad Pro models. According to the publication, the company will introduce three new iPhone and the updated Apple Watch. The new Apple Watch models will include larger screens that cover almost the entire front of the watch. Both the models are likely to be called iPhone XS with one featuring an OLED display.

In addition to the iPhone X, 9to5Mac also revealed the first look at the Apple Watch Series 4.

Apple's event invitation made heavy use of the colour gold, fuelling speculation on social media that the company plans to launch a gold-coloured successor to the iPhone X, which was made available only in silver and gray past year.

There have been reports/rumors that new iPad Pro models with "Face ID, slimmer bezels, and no Home button are in the works, as are refreshed Macs that include a low-priced MacBook and a new Mac mini, but it is not clear if these products will come at the September event". The company has already given base-model iPads and some MacBook laptops an update this year.

The iPhone accounts for about two-thirds of the company's revenue, and serves as a hub for Apple Watches, AirPods, and services like the App Store and Apple Music, which generate most of Apple's other sales. Investor Warren Buffett, speaking on Thursday to CNBC, said the iPhone is "enormously underpriced" even when it costs US$1,000, given how indispensable it has become for so many people.
