Clemson quarterback Kelly Bryant feels he didn't get a fair shot to keep his job and has made a decision to transfer after highly touted freshman Trevor Lawrence was named the starter for the third-ranked Tigers.
Dabo Swinney made a change at quarterback earlier this week, and as a result, the quarterback who led Clemson to an ACC championship and the College Football Playoff last season will continue his career elsewhere.
Bryant started the first four games of the season, but his fate was sealed when Lawrence threw four touchdowns Saturday a win against Georgia Tech.
"It was a rough day", Swinney said. Statistically, Bryant totaled 3,402 passing yards, 22 passing touchdowns to 10 interceptions, and another 795 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns.
Bryant completed 36 of 54 passes for 461 yards and two touchdowns with one interception this season.

His cousin, current Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Martavis Bryant, had played for the Tigers, and then-offensive coordinator Chad Morris never wavered in his interest, even when Bryant was ill. Second-year freshman Chase Brice is now the backup while another freshman, Ben Batson, was moved to quarterback before the spring to add to the team's depth.
