The Brooklyn Nets' Caris LeVert suffered a gruesome injury to his right leg late in the first half of Monday night's loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, and if you still haven't seen the aftermath consider yourself lucky.

Once George received news of the injury, he offered his prayers to LeVert on Twitter.

LeVert was racing back to try to block a shot and his leg bent awkwardly when he landed.

A young National Basketball Association star's gruesome ankle break has left teammates and opponents in tears.

The "Woolsey Fire" on the southern end of the state has devoured mansions and mobile homes alike in the coastal town of Malibu. More than 5,000 firefighters are still battling the blaze that charred 195 square miles since it started Thursday.

The Nets announced on Tuesday that LeVert was diagnosed with a subtalar dislocation of the right foot and that tests revealed that there were no fractures and only moderate ligament damage.

"While the optics of this injury may have appeared to be more severe, surgery will not be required". The 24-year-old guard is producing at a career-best level and, with all of the caveats that accompany a 13-game sample, LeVert appears poised for a full-fledged breakout this season.

For Brooklyn, having LeVert avoid a season-ending injury will be a huge lift.

LeVert entered the game as the Nets' leading scorer with 19 points per game. He is the only player in the league this season to convert multiple game-winning baskets with less than 10 seconds remaining in regulation or overtime.
