Kim Kardashian forced to evacuate her home as wildfire sweeps through neighbourhood

The Washington Post reports that two separate fires - the Hill Fire and the Woolsey Fire- have forced 100,000 people to flee their homes in Southern California.

The fire broke out on Thursday northwest of Los Angeles and roared southward, jumping the US 101 freeway early Friday and sweeping into the Santa Monica Mountains.

Kim Kardashian has been forced to quickly pack and evacuate her home in Calabasas, California due to a massive wildfire burning in nearby Woolsey Canyon.

"They're evacuating everyone right now from all of our homes", she said, watching the action from her vehicle.

The E! star told her Twitter followers: 'I heard the flames have hit our property at our home in Hidden Hills but now have stopped. The actress ultimately got the help she needed and tweeted that her horses were safe. "God is good. I'm just praying everyone is safe", her message continued.

Guillermo del Toro, director of Oscar best picture victor The Shape Of Water, tweeted that he had abandoned his vast Bleak House museum collection of fantasy and horror memorabilia, while singer Etheridge said she had moved into a hotel due to the fire.

"I think recently I've become a little disappointed with social media from the aspect that there can be some real bullies", she complained.
