Lakers’ LeBron James backs up Rockets’ Carmelo Anthony amid criticisms

Several players and members of the Rockets' coaching staff believe that Carmelo Anthony has played his final game for the franchise, sources told ESPN on Sunday.

Through his official Twitter account, James quote tweeted Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade's post of support for Anthony. Chris Paul, who along with Harden helped recruit Anthony over the summer, praised his longtime friend but was vague about Anthony's future with the Rockets.

The news of his potential departure comes after ESPN reported the Rockets were already having discussions with Anthony about his role with the team.

Opinions regarding the Rockets' chemistry issues appear to be divided.

Anthony's unhappiness can't be entirely disconnected to a rough start for the Rockets, as they fell to 4-7 after losing to San Antonio on Saturday.

Anthony, who is in his 16th season, has averaged 13.4 points and 5.4 rebounds in 10 games with two starts this season.

Indeed a rare mistake from Joe Gomez presented Fulham with the game's best chance midway through the half. Hendo is 100 percent fit and needs games as well.

"Melo's been great and he's done everything we've asked", D'Antoni said.

"Our problem is we can't shoot the basketball", he said. "That's like a brother to me, know what I mean?"

D'Antoni on Melo: "Win, lose it's not his fault."

"I know that we're talking about everything", he said. With 15 players under contract, that's exactly what they'd have to do to add Anthony.

Head Coach Mike D'Antoni says the Rockets are playing bad collectively and that the fault does not fall exclusively on Carmelo Anthony. "Every reason we've brought him here, he's followed". That's me saying that and knowing that. If the Rockets decide to let Anthony go, he will be free to sign with any team in the league.
