First Lady Melania Trump unveiled the White House's gorgeous Christmas décor Monday, revealing a patriotic theme. The White House is calling them "topiary trees", and their boughs seem to have been constructed from strung red orbs, which resemble the strings of cranberries that accented the Christmas trees of yore.
"American Treasures" honors "the unique heritage of America", according to a White House statement.
Ornaments adorning garlands in the Red Room feature Melania Trump's "Be Best" anti-bullying campaign logo. "It is a symbol of valor and bravery". Shots of "Be Best" branded tree ornaments and a wreath constructed entirely out of promotional pencils serve as a nice reminder of that time the first lady launched a (grammatically awkward) policy initiative created to tackle a vaguely defined spectrum of issues, including childhood bullying and opiate abuse.
