Another winter storm on the way Monday

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued from 1 a.m. Monday to 7 p.m. Monday for Barry, Eaton, Ingham, Livingston, Calhoun, Jackson, Washtenaw, Branch, Hillsdale and Lenawee counties. Even when the snow ends late Monday morning, gusty winds will continue to create areas of blowing and drifting with reduced visibility.

A snowstorm will deliver 4-8 inches south of I-96 and 8-12 inches north of I-96 on Monday, with significant impacts to travel. Most of the system should be out of here going into Monday night.

Snow is beginning to overspread the area this evening ahead of a potent winter storm. Temperatures in Duluth are expected to stay below zero from then until Friday, with highs on Tuesday and Wednesday in the teens below zero. Dangerously cold conditions are possible Wednesday morning with wind chills now forecast to range from -15 to -25 degrees.

Temperatures will jump above average this afternoon, with highs well into the 50s.

Tuesday night through early Thursday morning: Apparent temperatures as low as minus 25 to minus 35 are possible Tuesday and Wednesday nights. A wind chill of 57 below was reported at the Grand Marais airport. Frostbite is likely within 5 minutes to exposed skin in these conditions. Highs in the upper 20s are possible by Saturday, the Weather Service reported.
