Apple to release three new iPhones this year, one with triple camera

Citing "people familiar with the matter", a report by The Wall Street Journal has said that the Cupertino-based technology major is planning to release three new iPhone models later this year.

The XR has struggled to take off since it was launched in October a year ago.

The Tame Apple Press thinks that Apple is testing the Chinese market to see if price cuts make the slightest bit of difference. In fact, both have identical specifications (processor, camera and features) safe for their screen sizes and battery capacity - the iPhone XS has a 5.8-inch display and a 2,658mAh battery while the iPhone Xs Max features a 6.5-inch display and a 3,174mAh battery.

In December, Apple started a trade-in promotion allowing consumers to trade their Android phones (including those from Huawei and Xiaomi) for credits toward buying new iPhones, Yahoo reported.

Notably, the new report is in agreement with another a render that came out earlier month giving a glimpse of what iPhone XI could hold for us in 2019.

The flagship iPhone product earns Apple about two-thirds of its revenue. The high-end 2019 iPhone will reportedly feature three rear-facing cameras, we're told, while the other phones will have two rear shooters. In the case of the iPhone XS and XS Max sequel, this will mean jumping from two to three lenses.

Apple oracle Ming Chi-Kuo is the latest to offer up some premature predictions about what we can expect from the devices.

And in 2020, the Journal wrote, the company's entire lineup could have organic light-emitting diode, or OLED, displays, which are considered a step up from liquid crystal displays.

We are still at a very early stage of iPhone rumours, though. "They weren't impacted in the past, but 5G is going to be much easier to market". Making iOS more open and flexible for other devices, apps and services, will make the iPhone appealing to power users and might just convince me to make the switch.
