Harris blazes to 77 as Australia fight back against India

Australia have dramatically reshaped their one-day squad for the three-match series against India with just six players retained from those that faced South Africa earlier in the season. That's the more important thing for me and I'm still working on that.

In another snub to BBL form, one of leading wicket takers in the competition's history Andrew Tye was overlooked in a pace battalion missing Australia's Test quicks.

"Don't forget we are missing Steve Smith and David Warner, you take out the best two players of any batting team in the world I think you're going to leave a whole there". Usman Khawaja, not trusting his defence enough against Kuldeep, jumped down the track to try and slog over midwicket, but the ball dipped on him, he failed to get to the pitch and found the fielder inside the circle. First over after tea, he breached Australia captain Tim Paine's ambitious cover drive to castle him.

Peter Handscomb and Pat Cummins doing a fix job now.

The pair's promotions are a sign selectors are placing more value on the ability to build an innings rather than pure hitting power.

The surface that India's batsmen had plundered nearly at will for two days was still offering little movement for the bowlers and the Australians will be cursing themselves for some soft dismissals after the solid start to the day.

Pant showed a lot of maturity in his batting as he was keen on taking the singles and giving the strike back to Pujara as long as he was at the wicket. First he removed Marcus Harris and then Shaun Marsh.

Cech's time at Arsenal could be up, admits Emery
Arsenal head to the game following a 4-1 victory over Fulham on Tuesday in the Premier League encounter. Four-time FA Cup victor Petr Cech could start for record 13-time winners Arsenal .

"What we have done in these first three Tests and the way that we have been able to play is something that is very special and something that will stay with us for life, " said the India skipper.

Peter Handscomb, unbeaten on 28, and fast bowler Pat Cummins, who had made 25, were at the crease when bad light stopped play at a Sydney Cricket Ground swathed in pink for the McGrath Foundation breast cancer support charity day.

Formerly seen as a Test specialist, Siddle has impressed with the white ball, playing a key role in the Adelaide Strikers' BBL title last summer. In ODIs you have only 10 overs and bowl to a field plan because you can have only four fielders outside the circle. It leaves Ashton Agar's worldwide career at the crossroads.

Labuschagne's wicket kick-started a short revival phase for Australia, when Travis Head and Peter Handscomb - both playing for a place in the team - weathered the storm settling into their shots in a 40-run stand.

Having fielded for nearly two full days, Australia navigated a tricky 10-over spell late in the day via Marcus Harris (19 not out) and Usman Khawaja (5no) to reach 24-0 at stumps, still trailing by 598 runs, albeit fortuitously after Khawaja was dropped by Pant.

"The upcoming three-match series against India and the ODI tours of India and the UAE are important windows to put this into practice and to build a squad to help defend our World Cup title".
