In a statement published on Saturday, the ministry said it had dispatched letters to the secretary general of the United Nations and the head of the UN Security Council (UNSC) in connection with Friday night's unprovoked attack on Damascus.
The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said airstrikes targeted an area near the airport while others hit the area of Kiswa, which is home to positions and storage sites for Iranian and Hezbollah terror forces allied with Syria's government.
"The results of the aggression so far were limited to a strike on one of the warehouses at Damascus airport", the Arab country's SANA news agency reported, quoting an unnamed military source as saying. Reports from Syrian state media say that the attacks centered on a warehouse outside of the airport.
