"A brief thaw will arrive with temperatures soaring several degrees above freezing", the special weather statement said.

"The snow will change over to rain near noon Wednesday or in the afternoon with the passage of a warm front". It is not certain, but they could develop if the snow consistency gets sticky enough at just the right couple inches of snow on top.

The high for the day is 6 C and the temperature will remain steady into the evening, as the rain continues. West-southwest wind 10 to 15 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 25 miles per hour. There's also the chance for precipitation late (after 3am) with drizzle for most, freezing drizzle possible in north-central Kansas.
