The streamer rolled out a special New Years' Eve-themed announcement video detailing that the long-awaited third season of the sci-fi series will be available to stream on July 4.

That doesn't mean we know what to expect from Stranger Things season 3 other than more scary monsters from the Upside Down.

Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), and Max (Sadie Sink) are all enthralled by the colorful explosions, but Will (Noah Schnapp) and Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) seem distracted and anxious by something behind the group, creeping red tendrils that can't signify anything good for the town.

The message: "One summer can change everything".

The streaming service is set to release the third season of the horror/science fiction hit July 4.

Netflix is making sure Stranger Things fans start 2019 with some good news.

New Horizons Probe Flies By Distant Asteroid Ultima Thule
The object is so old and pristine that it's essentially like going back in time to the beginning of our solar system. A NASA spacecraft opens the new year at the most distant world ever explored, a billion miles beyond Pluto.

We also learn that the Starcourt Mall advertisement from a previous teaser trailer is a commercial that ran during Dick Clark's broadcast-at least in the Hawkins, Indiana area.

It announces the new setting of summer 1985.

Eagle-eyed fans will also spot familiar phrases that flash up on screen, such as ' the silver cat feeds" and "when blue and yellow meet in the west'.

Netflix followed up by tweeting a poster for Stranger Things 3 right after it debuted the release date trailer.

In the foreground Mike and Eleven hold hands - but stand very far apart - as Eleven stares pensively back at the camera.
