Davis played 20 minutes on Friday versus the Pacers.

Anthony Davis bruised his shoulder and had to leave the New Orleans Pelicans' last game before the All Star break.

Davis, who has requested a trade, reportedly prefers to be traded to the Lakers. The Los Angeles Lakers, long rumored to be a preferred destination by Davis, made multiple offers that were not accepted by the Pelicans before the NBA's trade deadline.

Reports indicated the National Basketball Association could suspend the Pelicans $100,000 per game Davis was a healthy scratch by invoking the league's rest rule, though that was disputed.

So the Pelicans are trying to comply with those rules during their final 23 games while also planning for a future without Davis.

The game at IN will be the Pelicans' first since they fired general manager Dell Demps and appointed Danny Ferry as his interim replacement.

India, Saudi Arabia agree joint defence production
Saudi Crown Prince's two-day visit comes almost three years after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Riyadh in April 2016. India and Saudi Arabia also called upon all countries to renounce the use of terrorism as an instrument of state policy.

According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, Davis will sit against New Orleans.

Gentry also said he retains "a ton of respect" for Demps. A person familiar with the situation says the Pelicans have fired general manager Demps.

Gentry sounded resigned to the possibility that his tenure here might not last beyond this season. The Pelicans enter this season's All-Star break at 26-33 and unlikely to make the Western Conference playoff field this season.

The official reason for Davis not playing was rest. "But that's what we're here to do". In the next three, the Lakers play the Pelicans twice, with the Grizzlies in between.

"It's normal for us". "I think everything that has happened has been totally transparent". We sit down, talk to him about it. This will be the start of a very winnable stretch of games for the Lakers.
