General manager Jon Robinson remedied that issue Friday, bringing longtime Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill aboard.

Tannehill's deal reportedly reaches $12 million when playtime and other incentives are taken into consideration. The Dolphins get a fourth-round pick in 2020 and a 2019 seventh-round pick, and the Titans get Tannehill and a 2019 sixth-round pick according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The 30-year-old Tannehill has been the Dolphins starting QB since he was drafted with the eighth overall pick of the 2012 National Football League draft out of Texas A&M.

Tannehill is expected to replace Blaine Gabbert as the backup to Tennessee's Marcus Mariota.

It's no surprise the Miami Dolphins shipped off Ryan Tannehill.

The 21-year-old, a committed Christian, has played two years for Nick Saban, who formerly coached the Dolphins. You could argue that he and Tannehill are incredibly similar - both are athletic, accurate quarterbacks and their playing style feels similar. His agent tweeted that as part of the trade, Tannehill signed a one-year deal with the Titans.

The Dolphins now face a new era without a clear answer at quarterback.

In six years as the starter in Miami, the former first round pick threw for 20,324 yards with 123 touchdowns while completing 62 percent of his passes.
