Disney unveils new streaming service to debut in November

The Disney+ service will be available on a wide range of mobile and connected devices and content will also be available to fans for offline viewing.

Disney (DIS.N) says its new streaming service, Disney+, will cost US$6.99 per month when it launches in the USA on November 12.

Executives said they see opportunities to take its ESPN+ sport streaming video service to Latin America and are looking into global expansion of its Hulu streaming video business, which offers movies and shows targeted to adults. Since Disney now owns a majority stake in video streamer Hulu following its acquisition of 21st Century Fox, it plans to offer a combined subscription price for Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu.

The streaming service is expected to take on rivals Netflix, HBO Go and Showtime Anytime.

The Mandalorian will be available to start streaming when Disney+ launches, and all Star Wars movies will be available to stream within the first year.

Disney+ will include content from across the Disney brands, including Walt Disney Animation, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic.

During an investors briefing, Disney officially revealed its new digital streaming service Disney+, due out on 12th November this year.

Earlier this week, the company announced it will premiere a "Monsters, Inc." spin-off TV series to on the streaming service in 2020.

Toy Story 4 will be the first Pixar movie that streams on Disney Plus.

Based on the Marvel comic books of the same, What If will be Marvel Studio's first animated series. All episodes of The Simpsons will be on the platform from the first day, and episodes of Malcolm in the Middle will also be available. The series is reportedly set to follow stories of famed bounty hunters, Jango and Boba Fett, in the Star Wars universe. "This gives you the sense of how he plan to explore the MCU and fresh and exciting ways in the series.in addition new and returning cast members will be lending their voice to their animated counterparts".
