Is a cheaper Pixel 3 incoming as Pixel 2 disappears?

Google released the Pixel 2 phones back in 2017 and followed them up with the Pixel 3 duo a year later.

Spotted by u/hkyq in the r/Android subreddit, two new flags have been added to the Google Phone app as part of the latest beta update. The Pixel 2 XL was also nowhere to be found under a list of phones on Google's store, but a web search for the device still shows a link where you can buy it. As such, it's safe to assume that Call Screen may initially start out with Moto and Nokia phones and then later expand to Android One handsets from other OEMs.

Customers can still purchase the devices from third-party retailers while stock remains available, however.

Google has officially ceased selling the Pixel 2/2XL on its web store just 18 months after launch, prompting buyers to the Pixel 3/3XL instead.

With the death of the Pixel 2 and 2 XL, Google ups the ante on its title of "World's most expensive smartphone lineup" going by entry-level price.

This comes a few days after Google's SVP, Hiroshi Lockheimer, teased that he is using an as yet unreleased phone.

The Pixel 2 family will be remembered for their photography prowess thanks to the excellent image processing software.

I can't say that I've ever experienced the bug, but if you do a Google search for it, you'll know it has been pissing people off since the phone first launched. The Pixel 4 is out there, in someone's hands at Google but not everyone who thinks they need one.
