Kevin Durant landed awkwardly after a shot with 2:05 left in the third quarter. And seeing a Durant-less Dubs should be the thing that motivates the Rockets to take advantage. Initially, players and coaches feared that Durant tore his Achilles tendon, but Kerr was told by the Warriors' medical staff that that was not the case.
Unfortunately for the Warriors, Durant will miss the rest of the series against the Rockets. He logged 50 minutes during a Game 3 overtime loss to Houston, the most minutes he had played in a playoff game since 2014. It would be a shock if he came back for the end of the Houston series, but Golden State has to hope he can recover in time for some of the Western Conference Finals.
"He's disappointed", the Warriors head coach said.
After they had won, celebrated a little and then wearily walked back into the locker room, the Warriors saw Durant and heard the relatively good news - it wasn't an Achilles tear, but he was out indefinitely and nearly certainly out for the next few games. "We still have a lot of weapons and can create good offense through that type of attack". That gave us a chance to win down the stretch with how hard we played on that end of the floor. "We'll tap into that for however long he's out".

"He's been phenomenal", Kerr said.
However, after he left Wednesday night's game, star point guard Steph Curry looked like his old self again.
"If Kevin is out, then what you saw in the fourth quarter is what you're gonna have to see going forward", Kerr said. We'll find out more about that later. But got it done today. "Not just a game is a game", Sherman said. "That was an unbelievable victory tonight".
