EE has pipped its rivals to launch the first 5G network in the United Kingdom, offering ultra high speed internet connnection in London, Cardiff, Belfast, Edinburgh, Manchester and Birmingham from today.
In a United Kingdom first, the BBC and BT broadcast a live TV contribution over EE's public 5G network.
However, in order to make use of the new technology, devices must already be 5G-compatible.
