Jumbo-Visma's dominant display dropped down Team INEOS - who had Geraint Thomas in their ranks despite a crash on the opening stage - from top spot in the standings, a position they had held since being the first to venture out onto the course on Sunday.

Team were jostling to get their sprinters in prime position to strike when the pile-up occurred, taking down Dylan Groenewegen, one of the pre-stage favorites. While it's a different proposition from winning an individual stage, the team time trial triumph will be no less sweet, with Bennett cutting an ecstatic figure in the post-stage celebrations.

"I don't feel pressure to prove that my win wasn't a fluke, or whatever negative angle people want to take from it".

Team Ineos' Egan Bernal discusses the challenges and expectations he faced while preparing for the 2019 Tour de France.

"Looking at GC [general classification], it's a good performance", Thomas said.

"Nevertheless, I truly came to (Team Dimension Data) with the goal of making a difference, by mobilising entire communities in Africa with bicycles through our incredible charity (Qhubeka)".

Teunissen's team-mate Steven Kruijswijk is now the best placed of the general classification hopefuls, 20 seconds clear of Ineos' co-leaders, but there is better news further down the standings.

After two days in Belgium, the peloton will enter France during Monday's stage three which leads riders from the Belgian town of Binche to Epernay in the Champagne region.
