Former Chicago Bears head coach, Lovie Smith will interview for the Philadelphia Eagles head coaching position on Thursday. The Eagles search remains wide open as they look to replace Andy Reid. Combining Smith’s time as defensive coordinator with the Rams and his time as Bears head coach, Smith’s defenses finished ranked in the NFL’s top five four times.

Smith has been to the Super Bowl twice, as the defensive coordinator for the 2001 St. Louis Rams and as the head coach for the Chicago Bears in 2006. The Chicago Bears fired Smith on December 31, 2012 when the team failed to reach the playoffs after achieving a 7-1 record at the season’s halfway point.
