Providence defeats Villanova

On Sunday February 3 from The Pavilion on the campus of Villanova University, it was a Big East Conference clash betweet the Villanova Wildcats taking on the Providence Frairs. Providence defeated Villanova 69-66 on January 19th, while Villanova came into this game off a loss to Notre Dame on January 30th. Providence came into the game off a overtime loss to Uconn on January 31st. The game was broadcasted regionally on Big East Network, it was on 6ABC for the Philadelphia area. Providence started the game
The first points of the game goes to Villanova’s Mouphataou Yarou. He would make the basket, but miss the foul. The first points for Providence went to Kris Dunn. Villanova Yacoubou Fouled Providence Brice Cotton from 3 Point Range, Cotton Makes 2 of 3 from Line. it was a very tight & sloppy first half, Providence took a 29-23 lead at halftime. Leading Scorer for Providence in the first half was Josh Fortune with 12 points, for Villanova it was Darrun Hilliard with 9 points.
Villanova started with the ball to begin the second half. halfway through the second half, it was sloppy play by both teams, Shots are not falling for both teams. Providence held a 52-43 lead with 4:27 left, then providecne went cold allowing Villanova to tie the game at 52 with two foul shot made by James Bell with 40 seconds left. Providence Bryce Cotton hits the game winning three Pointer with two Seconds left gives Providence a 55-52 win over Villanova.

Providence: Bryce Cotton had 18 points, 6 rebounds, Josh Fortune had 15 points, 5 rebounds
Villanova: Darrun Hilliard had 17 points went 10-10 at foul line, Mouphtaou Yarou had 10 points, 14 rebounds
