Virginia Destroyers at Omaha Nighthawks preview UFL
- Updated: October 12, 2012
Omaha, Nebraska – Amid rumors of what some are considering a financial crisis in the UFL, the Virginia Destroyers are on the road and taking the field tonight against the Omaha Nighthawks. Following their home opener victory just a week ago against the Sacramento Mountain Lions at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex, the Destroyers are looking for their second win. Says a focused Coach Kurt Schottenheimer, “We’re here to play football, and we’re here to win. What we’re not here to do is get hung up on rumors or negativity. Now more than ever, you’re going to see how much this team wants to play this game. And you’re going to see us put everything out on that field here in Omaha.”
This will mark the first match up between the Omaha Nighthawks and the Virginia Destroyers in the 2012 season. It was a disappointing loss when Omaha crumbled under the weight of the Las Vegas Locomotives 41-6 on October 3. Virginia will undoubtedly use this momentum to their advantage. Airing from the TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Nebraska, the game will air live on the CBS Sports network at 7 PM EST.
