Duke beats Syracuse to Win NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship

Philadelphia PA: On Monday May 27 from Lincoln Financial Field in South Philadelphia, College Lacrosse took center stage on Memoral Day as the Duke Blue Devils took on Syracuse Orange for the right to be crowned NCAA Champions. Duke got to the title game by beating Cornell in the semifinals, Syracuse beat Denver in the semifinals, the game was broadcasted Nationally on ESPN with Eamon McAnaney & Quint Kessenich calling the action & Dave Ryan and Steve Panarelli called the action Nationally on the Radio for Dial Global Sports.

Duke won the opening faceoff to start the game, the first goal of the game came from Syracuse Billy Ward at 10:26 left in first quarter, Syracuse would go on to score 5 Straight goals to start the game before Duke got on the board in the second quarter on a goal by Jordan Wolf, Duke would make a run to cut the syracuse lead, Syracuse took a 6-5 Lead into Halftime,

The turning point of the game happened in the second half as Duke would take over and go on a run after they tied the game at 7 with 2:46 left in 3rd quarter, Duke would take their first lead of the game on Goal by Josh Offit & Duke would score the dagger goal with 1:07 left in 4th quarter, Duke beat Syracuse 16-10 to win the National Championship for the 1st time since 2010. Duke Jordan Wolf scored 4 goals, Josh Dionne, Josh Offit each scored a Hat Trick for Duke, For Syracuse Dylan Donahue scored a hat trick, JoJo Marasco scored 2 goals, The Attendance for the Championship game was 28,224.
