Creighton takes apart #4 Villanova 96-68

Philadelphia PA- On Monday January 20 from Wells Fargo Center in South Philadelphia, an in season battle for 1st place in the Big East was at stake as #4 Villanova Wildcats host Creighton Blue Jays on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Villanova came into game off a win over DePaul on January 18, While Creighton comes in off a bad loss to Providence also on January 18.  The Game was broadcasted on FOX Sports 1 with Gus Johnson & Bill Raftery  calling the action & locally on TalkRadio 1210 WPHT with Ryan Fannon & Whitey Risby calling the action.

Villanova won the opening tip to start the game, The games first points would come from Creighton Ethan Wragge from 3 point range, Villanova gets their 1st points of game from a 2 point layup from Daniel Ochefu. Creighton would make their first 9 shots of game , all from three point range, half of them came from Ethan Wragge. The lead by Creighton would grow up to 28 then Villanova would go on a run to end the 1st half to cut the lead down to 13 as Creighton  would lead 54-41 at halftime.

Creighton Ethan Wragge would have 24 points in the first half & going 8-10 from three point range. Darrun Hilliard would lead all scorers for Villanova in the 1st half with 10 points.

Creighton would get ball to start the 2nd half, and would to continue where they left off from the first half as they would keep on hitting the 3 pointers. The lead at one point in the 2nd half would grown to a 40 point lead for Creighton with 6:35 left in 2nd half, Villanova would cut into the lead but it would be way to much as Creighton would lead from start to finish as they win 96-68 in front of 14,114 at Wells Fargo Center. Creighton would set a new Big East Conference record by making 21 three pointers breaking the old record of 20.

Villanova Wildcats:
James Bell: 19 points, 3 rebounds, 5-11 from three point range
JayVaughn Pinkston: 11 points, 5 Rebounds, 5-6 from Foul line

Creighton Blue Jays:
Ethan Wragge 27 points,  9-14 from three point Range
Doug McDermott 23 points,  5 rebounds,  5-8 from three point range
