Philadelphia PA: On Monday July 28 from Lincoln Financial Field in South Philadelphia. NFL training camp took center stage as the Philadelphia Eagles held their 1st of 2 open practices. This was the 1st time that the Fans were able to be in the stadium since the renovations. Today was the 1st time that the players put the pads on for practice. Today camp was special as it was Military Appreciation Day.
Before practice Head coach Chip Kelly spoke to media and went on to say the following:
“No one’s going to play us two-deep because then we’ll just run the ball”
“We’re looking to improve in every aspect, being more efficient at every level”
about QB Mark Sanchez: “I think he’s healthy now … Had 3 OCs with NYJ, picking up 4th system very quickly … Has been very sharp last few days”
Once practice started, it was business as usual as they worked on series of drills with the quarterbacks and running backs and on the other side of the field they had the wide receivers going up against the Safeties. Nick Foles has a series of nice throws to tight end Zach Ertz and Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin in the process making a nice 1 handed catch.
Latter on in practice the worked on special teams, Kicker Alex Henry and Casey Spears took turns kicking field Goals, Henry made all of his kicks including a 50 yard field goal.
one they went to the 7 on 7 drill, Nick Foles made some amazing throws and Maclin was on the end of most of then. Earl Wolff made a nice play by breaking up a deep pass that was going to Arrelious Benn.
The Highlight from practice was the fight between Jeremy Maclin & Bradley Fletcher. Fletcher broke up the pass to Maclin, Maclin took offense to what fletcher was doing and then Punches came and both got off some big shots and several players broke it up. After practice, Maclin did not speak after practice. There was under 15,000 in Attendance for practice.
The next time the Philadelphia Eagles will be at Lincoln Financial Field is the final open practice of camp on Sunday August 3 at 12:!5 PM
